Glazing Options

Here at Traditional Timber Windows we offer a range of standard glazing options suitable for most installations and work with various specialists able to supply the more unusual should the need arise.

As standard, all windows come with a high performance glazing system optimised for thermal efficiency and a clear neutral appearance, resulting in increased light, a clearer view and lower heating costs.

We have a wide range of glazing options available including obscure patterns, acoustic reduction, solar reduction and enhanced thermal performance (a triple glazed system is available in all product ranges). There is also a wide range of lead and coloured glass options.

Pilkington K Glass™ – Energy efficient glazing

With its low emissivity coating, Pilkington K Glass is the UK’s leading thermal glass and has for over 21 years been the trusted solution for energy efficiency.

Pilkington K Glass forms the inner pane of the latest energy efficient insulated glass units, such as Pilkington energiKare. The coating reflects heat back into the room whilst also letting in free heat from the sun, known as passive solar gain. By using this thermal insulation glass in your windows you can achieve a high Window Energy Rating to comply with the latest energy saving regulations

Pilkington energiKare™

Pilkington energiKare  has been specifically developed to reduce energy loss through your windows by up to 75%, at the same time taking advantage of the free heat energy from the sun helping to reduce your heating bills.

The high performance of Pilkington energiKare energy-saving glazing is achieved through the combined use of two very special types of glass, both of which make up the insulating glass unit.  By using Pilkington K Glass (a special low-emissivity glass) as the inside pane, this energy-efficient glazing not only reflects heat back into the home greatly helping to reduce heat loss, but also allows in the energy gain from a free energy source – the sun.  By using Pilkington Optiwhite, an “extra clear” low iron glass as the outside pane, the free energy is allowed to pass through to the next pane maximising the benefits of this free energy source.

Pilkington energiKare energy-saving glazing is suitable for any age of building, if you are thinking of replacing your current window glass, choose Pilkington energiKare.
